North Texas Food Bank (Food 4 Kids) One in four Texas children lives in a food insecure household. These children often face hunger over the weekend, when there is no access to meals prepared at school. The Food 4 Kids program helps to eliminate this problem by providing backpacks full of nonperishable, kid-friendly, nutritious food to chronically hungry children on Friday afternoons to last throughout the weekend. Each backpack contains four meals. The program currently serves over 325 schools in 32 schools districts across Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Hunt, Rockwall, and Kaufman counties. With over 8,000 children currently receiving a Backpack each week, the North Texas Food Bank hopes increase distribution to 11,000 students each week by June of 2011.

Pratham USA The mission of Pratham USA is to make significant contributions to Pratham's goal of "Every Child in School and Learning Well" by raising awareness about the problem of illiteracy in India and by raising funds to support Pratham's projects. Pratham believes that by providing children with a good education, we create opportunities not only for them, but also for their families and communities. Pratham's direct programs, including pre-schools and community libraries, reached out to over 1 million children in 43 cities across India last year. The Read India campaign led by Pratham aims to teach 60 million children of ages 6-14 how to read, write and do basic math by the end of 2009.

Vibha Vibha is a non-profit volunteer based organization that seeks to restore the promise of a future to underprivileged children in India and US by providing them access to education, healthcare, shelter and nourishment.
